Disquieted Princess

Princess Peach from the Mario series. She's one of my favorite characters.
My very first 100%-digital artwork! I must say, I'm quite proud and pleased with this piece. I spent countless hours on it nearly every day for the past month. The style is much different from my usual style...mostly because it's digital, not traditional art. I'm starting to get the hang of it! I've found layers are very much your best friend. XD

Originally, I wasn't pleased with the earring; it looked kind of lopsided--but I fixed it, and now I'm very happy with it. I absolutely love the way the iris of her eye turned out. I also really love the nose and crown. I struggled most with blending her skin, as well as getting the shading of her hands to look right; I've always struggled with hands. >_<; I'm still not sure if I'm happy with them, but good enough, I say! (That, and I don't know how else to fix it.) Her hair was also quite a challenge. Overall, I totally love this piece, and I had a blast making it.

I kind of cheated, though; I used a reference for the line art. It's from a screenshot from a Mario anime movie--Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach. The Mushroom Kingdom has more info, if you're curious. (I'm also staff there.)

Dimensions make it so this can be used as desktop wallpaper. I re-uploaded the art as a .jpg, so I could submit it to the ~peach-club, but since .jpgs become slightly lossy-looking whenever I convert them, the better image (a .png file) can be found here.
