The second piece of my seasonal theme.
Is there anything more beautiful than snow on a starry wintry night? I love the way the snow and mountains turned out in this piece. The blues are so calming and peaceful. I'm not sure I like the sky; the moon looks a little displaced, but I wanted it to reflect in the water, so that was pretty much the only place I could put it. Originally I wanted to put snow on the trees; I think that would've given it a better effect. I also wanted to put a lit town in the valley, but I was pressed for time. However, since I didn't, it fits the seasonal theme better, not having anything that wouldn't be found in nature. Overall, I really love this piece.

Moon and stars touched up in Paint Shop Pro 8.

Woah!! That is very beautiful what you did there!!

The night-theme colouring is absolutely stunning! I could also see it as if this was a piece out of a child's storybook!!

I have to agree with you there: The isn't anything more beautiful the winter!
You have an exceptional talent to devise and choose an apropriate color palette for whatever atmosphere you want! Not to mention your perspective is natural and doesn't look flat!
Way to go! :winner:

Gorgeous landscape. :)
Wow it was really fantastic to see your gallery with both this piece and the one above it :D! I love the soft cold colours and the shapes. The rolling hills and the shadowy blues are excellent on their own, but even more impressive next to the warm hues of the summer one! I love the mountains in the background :D Lovely textures and attention to detail!
waoo1 this one is very beautiful too!

Oh wow. That's really beautiful. I love the colour palette you used; the blues work very nicely together. And the touch-ups you did on the stars made them all twinkly and priddy. :3 Very nice.
